I don't know where I acquired this but it is a fascinating impossible figure. It looks like a real photo.... I have seen photos of other impossible triangles and understand how one can be made then photographed from a particular angle to look real, but I can't see it in this image.
How do you think this was done?Does anyone know who created this image? The creator of this piece contacted me and below is the full image from the Gallery of Jörn Gollob. He has given me permission to post his complete image and copyright below. Thank You Jörn.
Description Presented here is a vast gallery of many different forms of Optical Illusions. Whether these optical illusions are conveyed through fractals, photographs, architecture, art, or old fashioned pen and ink, they are bound to remind you that "seeing is not believing."

I have to suspect some photo editing on this one. The shading around the top of the ladder looks a little suspect.
Nonetheless, if you imagine the top of the structure ending right there by the top of the ladder, and the back of the structer by the other figure disappearing behind it, the angle theory seems almost feasible. The floor tiles make the proportions pretty convincing, though, it's a good illusion.

This stuff blows my mind. Especially the whole fractal thing.
