Description Presented here is a vast gallery of many different forms of Optical Illusions. Whether these optical illusions are conveyed through fractals, photographs, architecture, art, or old fashioned pen and ink, they are bound to remind you that "seeing is not believing."

Caution!!!! Some of the optical illusions on this blog may cause dizziness or possibly epileptic seizures. The latter happens when the brain can't handle the conflicting information from your two eyes. If you start feeling unwell when using this website, immediately cover one eye with your hand and then leave the page. Do not close your eyes because that can make the attack worse.

The O in TOY BOX Puzzle

Is there anything unusual about this wooden ring?

Would it be easy or hard to lift the ring off of the blue surface it rests on?

By the way, you have all of the info needed to answer the last question.

By rotating it 90 degrees from the original, you have techincally manipulated the image.

In your version it is definately raised in apperance. In the original it more ambigous without the artists comment. Once you know the truth, it is obvious in the original version.

Changing the viewpoint of a circle is a form of manipulation and as you suggested it did make the illusion a little stronger.

Once I read the artist's comment I had a hard time seeing it as I did in the original thumbnail version.

A final note for those that are confused. You can't lift the ring because it isn't there. What you are seeing is a ring carved into the wood.
