Description Presented here is a vast gallery of many different forms of Optical Illusions. Whether these optical illusions are conveyed through fractals, photographs, architecture, art, or old fashioned pen and ink, they are bound to remind you that "seeing is not believing."

Caution!!!! Some of the optical illusions on this blog may cause dizziness or possibly epileptic seizures. The latter happens when the brain can't handle the conflicting information from your two eyes. If you start feeling unwell when using this website, immediately cover one eye with your hand and then leave the page. Do not close your eyes because that can make the attack worse.

High Tide Illusion

Global warming has caused the seas to rise, yet somehow women, men and fish are getting along just fine. This is an excellent photograph by flickr artist Jef Safi.

Understand that this has not been digitally manipulated in any way. How do you suppose he got this effect? I guess it could just be an experimental under water commune.

actually it's quite simple... from my point of view the small water waves, and the way the town is facing give it away

Lets say "O" is the pond the picture says or looks like is was created/taken .
. town
O <.....

so the created/taken picture was done by taking the picture from behind the pond
.
around here > ..> X .town
O <....

It is possible that the image was taken with an underwater camera.

the distorted part of the town would be ripples in the water
